As a Church, we are working towards Eco-Church recognition, expressing our care for God’s   world in our worship and teaching; in how we look after your buildings and land; in how we   engage with your local community and in global campaigns, and in the personal lifestyles of   our congregation. So, have you considered this:

 Plastic Free July.

This is a great opportunity to review where you might be able to reduce single-use plastics   in your life.

Being part of Plastic Free July will help you find great alternatives that can become new   habits forever.

Paying attention to what we consume and its effect on God’s earth, can lead us not into   guilt, but into action and prayerful determination to see change where it’s possible. Read   more about the effects of plastic here: https://arocha.org.uk/plastic-summer/ There is also   this active Facebook group where you can find lots more ideas with a local   theme https://www.facebook.com/groups/179576276108351/?locale=en_GB

In the meantime, have you considered this: Contribute to wildlife conservation.

Clean bird feeders to prevent diseases spreading to winter migrants. Install a nest box well   before breeding season to provide a cosy retreat for small birds during cold winter nights.

Prepare to support more birds next year, with more tips here. As you observe the local birds,   reflect on this verse, ‘I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are   mine.’ Psalm 50:11.
