St James Norton

the GREAT church

Accessibility

To the front of St James Church around the monument there are a few car parking spaces available. There are also double yellow lines that allow parking for those displaying a Blue badge, making access easier. At the rear of the church accessed via Matthews Lane there is more on-street parking, and level access for those less able and or using a wheelchair or pushing a pram.

We have a wheelchair in church which may be used to wheel those with reduced mobility in and out of church from a car.  Please get in touch to say you would like to use the wheelchair or pop into church and ask upon arrival for it.

Our church is accessible for those who have mobility or other needs. We have recently had new handrails fitted to access the sanctuary to take Holy Communion, or alternatively Holy Communion can be brought to you in your seat.

We can provide non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers upon request. If you could let one of our welcome team know as you come into church, as this would be useful.

We offer large print hymn books and service sheets for the visually impaired, including different coloured sheets for those who suffer with dyslexia.

There is a new sound system installed to improve audio quality, which includes a hearing loop for those who struggle with their hearing.

We have a fully equipped disabled toilet with handrails and a panic alarm for when assistance is needed.

Our extended garden of remembrance around the back of the church is level, and has seating under a canopy accessed by a resin path.
